Quality Technician

Job Title: QC Technician     Summary: The QC Technician is responsible for leading and coaching others on the Quality System and process improvement initiatives of Laminate Technologies. This position will also be responsible for the initiation and investigation of quality related issues as they arise, and will be responsible to help implement countermeasures to those quality related items. Analyze current work practices, operations, systems, and processes to coincide with the Lam Tech Quality system and then applying corrective actions, principals, tools, analytics, and processes with the goal of improving on Laminate Technology’s ability to continuously and efficiently meet the quality standards of both Laminate Technologies and our customers.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Understand, drive and implement the Lam Tech Quality system throughout the Plant.
  2. Develop and coach teams on Quality manufacturing ideologies and methodologies with assistance of other Plant team members. This includes developing best practices and implementing best practices.
  3. Analyze and audit products, systems, operations, work practices and processes for value added and non-valued added activities that may lead to Quality issues and/or recommend changes. This includes quality processes, checks, production paperwork and key aspects of the manufacturing processes.
  4. Develops quality assurance plans, systems and measuring processes by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification of procedures.
  5. Develop daily Quality checks associated with specific measurements to drive SPC and overall Quality improvements. Ability to complete daily checks for fit form and functions aspects for all Departments and products.
  6. Develop and maintain Training Guides, Standard Work, Standard Operating Procedures and have the ability to train on all Quality initiatives.
  7. Drive continuous improvement with 5-Why analysis, corrective actions for driving improvements and activities to minimize Customer complaints and charge backs.
  8. Review and process internal and external RMA’s in finding root causes.
  9. Work with other team member to analyze, plan, develop/design, implement, test and sustain the Quality systems and process improvement initiatives.
  10. Implement quality initiatives and monitor SOP’s to ensure standard work is being followed properly throughout the day for all processes.
  11. Demonstrate, practice, and be commitment to quality initiatives, goals, standards, and values by setting the example for other members
  12. Maintains open communication with and solicits input from all members of management, supervisors, team leaders and other members on status of lean programs (i.e. risk assessment, ongoing and open initiatives, upcoming quality processes, etc.)
  13. Follow established company and work area safety policies including the wearing of all required PPE’s
  14. Follow established company policies, policies and rules outlined in Member Handbook as well as procedures required in the standard operating procedures/work instructions
  15. Other duties and responsibilities as directed by your supervisor
  Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Formal education and or training in quality and lean systems or equivalent experience are required.
